Time flies like an oiled windmill turns

Hello lovelies,
I just realized how soon school ends. Woo! I also realized just how much I have to get done in that small amount of time! Yikes!

I have a lesson of Japanese homework to do before this Friday. (it takes a while) I also have a few other various worksheets to do by then. My final is next week on Monday and I have to do the studyguide for that!

My Bible class ends in two weeks and I don't even want to think how much I have to get done for that class. Super stressful that one is, especiallly when I really want to make a good impression but am failing miserably at getting my journaling done. I have two entries and we were supposed to have 14 last week.....

Anyway, I leave for class in ten minutes so I'll talk to you later interwebz,

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Well hello there!
I've been away for a bit haven't I...
Well, let's see. There wassssss Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving
We had our cousins over for thanksgiving. They brought the turkey and the rolls. We made the stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole, you know, all that good stuff.

.....I started this post a few hours ago......

Since then I've eaten 3 cherry chip cakeballs  and watched both "The Day After Tomorrow" and "iRobot" with my dad.
I got to talk to Bob and St. tonight. I may get to see both of them soonish and meet Bob's bf hopefully. Yeah.

I'm gonna go to bed soon. All I want to do lately is sleep. I fell asleep in the middle of hanging out with Bree and WnN.
Actually interwebz, correction: All I feel like doing is sleeping. There's a difference.

I already ate all my food...

Today I woke up with a headache. It seemed like I was running late and I hadn't gotten my stuff together before so it was scattered around our house. I went to bed at 10 last night and I still woke up tired this morning. My neck is messed up and hurts like anything. I really wish I had some kind of money to get a massage or go to the chiropractor or something. Anyway, I went to Public Speaking this morning for class at 8. It was good. We started doing our impromptu speeches. I go our next class period, which is Wednesday.
After class, I lugged my stuff to "the nerd corner." They weren't really inclusive or welcoming today which I found strange but I decided to do some of my homework. After correcting my study guide for New Testament, I got on the computer and puttzed around Facebook and my other blog on here.
Yumi got to school a little while later and we went downstairs to get food. She bought a breakfast sandwich and I inhaled all of the food I had brought for lunch.....woops. The sad thing is, I'm still hungry. She's in her math class now and then we have Japanese. After that, I'm heading over to Sheep's house and we are going to study for that final we have tonight. I'm supposed to have memorized three verses but my headache is barely letting me think let alone memorize things.
I hope our test in Japanese isn't too hard today. Oh, I registered for my next class at our church. Woo.
I need to remember to bring $25 dollars tonight to buy the book. I hope I don't forget. .... I hope a lot of things.
I'm hungry.
Man, this conversation is really deteriorating.......

I want a vacation interwebz. A real freaking vacation.

P.S. I just stared at the screen for a few minutes with nothing going through my brain.
P.P.S. I don't remember what was so important that I was going to say.

Hajimemashite.

Today was my first day of school at my new (community) college. I left my house at twenty to seven with a piece of toast and started out on my way to school. I stopped in at Caribou and got a small iced coffee with caramel in it before continuing on my way.
It was stop and go traffic so I got a good leg work-out with the clutch being such an active part of my drive. It was quite stressful but I wasn't unhappy. I got to school and had to go to the side parking lot to find a spot. Up a flight of stairs and all the way across the large building and I made it to my Public Speaking class two minutes late. He hadn't started yet. My heart was pounding from the stress and effort of carting my large backpack across the entire college.
An hour later and we were released. I ran and got my student ID number and then got my student ID card before going back across the campus to my Chemistry class. It is a very full class and honestly terrifying. I talked with a girl in that class a bit. Maybe we will be friends.
I had a two hour break before my next class so I went and found a spot by my classroom to eat my bento box lunch. Peanut butter sandwich cut into dinosaur shapes, green grapes, a strawberry and salad. I filled in all of the scheduling information from my syllabuses into my planner which took forever. After trying not to fall asleep for half an hour or so I went into the classroom. Class was exciting but intimidating. I had a hard time understanding the teacher but I have wanted to take Japanese for so long that my enthusiasm overwhelmed any feelings of apprehension.
Class ended and I went downstairs to pick up my textbooks. After picking them up, I walked to my truck and drove home where I promptly climbed into my bed with my laptop.
I don't have much homework assigned yet so I'm not worried.
I came downstairs after almost falling asleep sitting up and ate some mashed potatoes with cheese and chicken that my dad had made. The tv was on and we watched America's got Talent and after eating a bowl of cocoa krispies the show switched to American Ninja Warrior.
It is now 10:30 and I am more tired than I would have thought I would be.

I think I shall go to bed interwebz.

Thought overflow

Something has been plaguing my mind lately. I'm not sure what to do about it and I have no previous experience. I don't even know for sure what I want to do. It's one of those things that I just can't get out of my head and it is really annoying. I bet you are wondering "Oh? What is this thing that Melina has been struggling with?" Well, I'm sorry but unless I have met you in real life and we are rather close, you don't get to know. That's right. I'm going to write about it but not tell you what is up.
Why? Well, this is my blog. I write what I feel, what is bothering me, what is on my mind, what is going on in my life. Writing out my thoughts helps me sometimes so therefore this post. Unfortunately I feel the need to keep it rather vague.
If your name is Bob or St. then I would love it if you would call me so I can burden you with my overwhelming pile of reflections. Sephre probably knows more than either of you. *mumbles* She almost gave me a heart attack! *sigh*
I really wish I could get this out of my head. There are three options. I'm not sure whether any of them will end well. Oh, if only I could have unending wisdom.

I guess a lot of people would wish for that interwebz

Tired. Not sure why I am to this extent.

I'm falling asleep here on the couch. Not sure why....

Today I got up and tried to eat some breakfast but for some reason it just didn't sit well. I then went upstairs and went through my emails, showered and got ready for the day. The chiropractor was next and then I met Bob at Target. I got 3 bins to haul my stuff to Wisconsin in and two pairs of shorts because I literally didn't have any. I also got a tank top and sun dress. :) After shopping I went to Bob's house and we visited her old orchestra peoples. Then we went back and sat on her couch and watched Say Yes to the Dress. I went home and found myself glued to the couch soon after eating my left-over shrimp. Yum.

I need to pack but I am super tired. What do I do interwebz?

"You don't have to take the final and you all can eat donuts!"

That is literally what my Intro to Flash teacher told us today. Yay!
I am now done with the following classes:
  • Intro to Flash
  • Career Research
  • Portfolio for Graphic Design
  • Composition 1
Classes left to finish?
  • Intro to Creative Writing
    • Freewrite a page for the final
  • Personal Finance
    • Last Test
That's all! I'm happy about that. :) On the other end there has been increasing pressure from multiple people about many things and it is very stressful. I'm excited to move to Wisconsin next week! I know I'm kind of setting myself up for a semi-miserable summer but I am determined to have fun with it! lol No breaks doesn't have to mean no fun right?...right? Haha.
Anyway, on the to-do list today:
  • Go home
  • Eat lunch
  • Call the college I'm transferring to this fall and see if they will let me register online
  • Do a load of laundry
  • Write my Intro to Creative Writing Final
  • Eat Dinner
  • Start cleaning/organizing/packing?
I would tell you about yesterday but I really should get going and I'm sure it isn't truly that interesting to you (though it was fun) haha.

I'll ttyl interwebz

I hope I don't have to go to Kinkos.... (May 3rd)

I woke up around 8am this morning; got up and stuffed my stuff into my backpack and got dressed and ready for the day. I put my lunch that I packed but didn't eat yesterday back in my bag and then I was off to school. My class only started at 12pm but I went early to try to print my portfolio. The printer worked just fine yesterday but I guess it was grumpy today so it wouldn't print at all. If we can't get it working I will have to run to Kinkos to print everything (super expensive).

Side note: I found this in my drafts unpublished.
I managed to print most of my portfolio at school but I did still spend a size-able amount of money at Kinkos :)

Just quick before I sleep

I came home and started crying as soon as I hit the couch. Pure exhaustion and rampant emotions. The good stuff ya know. lol My daddy made me a roast beef sandwich and then I sat listlessly on the couch after eating a small bowl of chips. I have internet on my phone so I just kind of sat and stared at the online friends list on facebook for a bit until someone I felt like talking to came online. It happened to be my new friend Tallkid. I'm pretty sure that I have talked to him more than most people I talk to online. The only exception I can think of would be Lysa. Anyway, he managed to distract me from my stress with lol cats :) A very good thing this is considering at the beginning of this post I was in tears and I am currently in an excellent mood and about to go to bed. Sephre got online after a bit as well and we talked about this summer. I'm so excited to move in with her!! She has a job lined up for me already and another that is almost definitely mine. I move on the 19th! Big change! I'm looking forward to seeing her ^_^
Okay well sleep now so that I can resume my stress until you pass out week :)

Night night interwebz!

Bad day doesn't even cover it

I'm so wiped out. I have been pushing myself as hard as I can and I think I have run out of energy just short of when that would be ok. Day after tomorrow is portfolio show. My portfolio hates me. I have to print it all tomorrow and assemble it. I have no energy to function, in fact I'm not sure why I'm updating my blog.
I'm driving home now. Not sure how safe that is but I have to get there somehow lol. I have a four page essay due Wednesday. My final Flash project is due tomorrow. Neither have been started. Both will probably be failed. I just can't get everything I need to done.

All I want to do is sleep interwebz. That's all.

私の足が痛い。

Today:

I woke up at 6:30am and laid in bed taking care of my emails on my phone. I finally got up and washed my face, got dressed, did my makeup, all that good stuff. I gathered my stuff to bring to school and then went downstairs to find something to eat. I had about a quarter of a bowl of Kix and half a cup of coffee. Off to school I went, picking my soundtrack carefully to keep my attitude positive.

I arrived at school and changed to listening to the music on my earbuds instead of the stereo. No one was in the classroom yet when I came in so my usual place was more than open. I don't think anyone would be sitting there anyway. We are creatures of habit. I sat down and logged in, plugged in my two full jump-drives and got straight to work. My teacher came in eventually and I showed her what I had laid out for my  portfolio so far. She said it looked good and keep working. Class started at eight in the morning. I stayed in that classroom working on my portfolio for a few hours. I then ran (literally was speed walking) to the other end of the building to ask some questions about printing. Speed walked back and worked on changing things.
I had made a lot of progress when a strobe went off in the classroom. The siren soon followed and a voice was heard telling us to evacuate the building. I quickly dragged all of my work onto my jump-drive and a back up folder. I grabbed almost all of my stuff and stuffed it into my backpack, heading out of the building into the parking lot with the steady flow of students. It was sunny and I breathed in the fresh air as I went with a classmate to her car. I was majorly starting to freak out. What if the fire was real and it wasn't a drill? What if the computer that all of my work was on melted? There is no way that I can re-create all of that in two days. This can't be a real fire because I can't totally botch my portfolio! If this is just a drill that is so annoying. I don't have time for this! I was close to tears when they told us we could go back inside. Psh. Small heart attack no biggie. -_-
Anyway, I kept working on my portfolio. I finally unplugged the jump-drive I had bought at the bookstore and speed walked back to the graphic resource center where I print. We managed to print two whole pages of my portfolio. Out of 20. *sigh* I had to go home at 3. I went upstairs and turned on my computer, looked for my Personal Finance book to take my quiz. I couldn't find it so I just filled in random answers since it is hard enough to do with the book let alone without it. Overall I'm getting one percent short of a B. (I failed that quiz miserably.) I really need to find that book soon. After that I just kind of sat for a few minutes staring into space.
The only break I had taken in my seven hours of school-work was the fire drill. I had eaten the Kix from this morning and half of a Luna bar. A cup of coffee too but that was it. That plus the running from one end of the building to the other and the incredibly amount of stress had left me shaking. You wouldn't be able to tell looking at me or anything but I had failed to take care of myself really. I just didn't have enough time...
I ate the other half of the bar and took a half-shower. Grabbing a hunk of cheese, I got back into my truck and headed off to work.
Work was rough but not the worst it has been. I could have sworn that it was almost all new people working tonight though. My break food saved me. Amazingly enough we were done before 11pm (which is when we close) and so I was out of there by a decent time. I then came home and climbed into bed to check facebook and write this post.

Now I sleep interwebz

Crazy Loco Life

Sorry I haven't been posting. I haven't really been reading the blogs I follow either. I just have a ton going on in my life right now and busy doesn't even seem to be able to describe it. I hope to be back to my once a day posts soon. We will have to see. For now we will have to make due with my highly sporatic ones. lol

I hope you are well interwebz

P.S. I graduate with my degree in a week!

So I've been a little busy....

Lot's of stuff has been going on and I don't have enough time to tell you right now but here is the jist of it. I had an allergic reaction on Tuesday morning that worsened over two days. I have had two trips to the doctor and a total of 4 shots. I'm on heavy medication with incredibly annoying side effects that some people don't seem to understand and I have a ton of stuff to get done in just two days. Least to say it has been interesting.

I'm off to kill myself trying to get my homework done. Yes, I might be being a tad dramatic here but I'm rather upset right now and entirely stressed.

I hope you are well interewebz.

So today hasn't been to great...

I woke up at 8:35am this morning. My 1hr class starts at 8am. I got to school at 9am. This class meets once a week so attendance is kind of important. I turned in my research paper and 20 questions and headed to the computer lab to do my resume. Even after restarting the computer, it wouldn't let me log in. I decided to head home to do what homework I could there. At this point I was feeling incredibly discouraged. This was not a good way to wake up and start my day, feeling hopeless and like a failure.
I climbed in my truck and turned the key in the ignition. The bars on the radio started moving and this song came on. Being the emotional sob that I am, as soon as the song got to the point where it said don't cry, I had tears streaming down my face. It is an encouraging song.

It's okay if you can't go
And changed what happened
it was just a bad day
And you know everybody has them
I get it when you say
You feel like everyone's passed you over
But it's not too late
Pick the weight up off your shoulders

I'm coming to take you away
To the place where pain won't find you
I'm coming to take you away
So leave the weight of the world behind you
And you know nothing's too far
Nothing's too hard
I'll always be there
I'm coming to take you away

Don't cry cause you know that you're not alone
Now, let me dry your eyes
Now it's time that you finally find out
There will always be a new day
At the end of every hard one
Now I'm on my way
So I can be the help you start one

I'm coming to take you away
To the place where pain won't find you
I'm coming to take you away
So leave the weight of the world behind you
And you know nothing's too far
Nothing's too hard
I'll always be there
I'm coming to take you away
To take you away

I'm coming to get you
So leave your bags at the hall
That held you down
You can't pack for the place we're going now
It doesn't matter what's going on
I'm the one to get you out

I'm going to take you
Where the sun lights up your face
Where you can't remember yesterday
'Till the hurt has been replaced
I'm coming to take you away

I'm coming to take you away
So leave the weight of the world behind you
And you know nothing's too far
Nothing's too hard
I'll always be there
I'm coming to take you away
Take you away

Unfortunately I'm not encouraged.

Just keep swimming

Hey there!

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting very much on this blog. I just caught up with my posts on my other blog. I got up for my 8am class this morning and dragged myself there. In the coming days and weeks I will be experiencing living death. So exciting! Despite that I have managed to keep a good attitude so far. I missed class last week because I slept through my alarm so I didn't know about our assignment. The three people that didn't do it (including me) were thoroughly chewed out. Our teacher can be pretty harsh at times. While the other people in my class were participating in the activity, I revised my cover letter and turned it in again. When class was ending, I went up to talk to my teacher and just honestly told her straight out what was going on. For about a minute she softened and I could tell that she cares. I told her that I was pretty much terrified of graduation and I had been lying to myself. She told me that everyone was at some point or another and it is to be expected but graduation isn't half as terrifying as her if I don't get my work in. Touche. lol
I headed home and cleaned my room. I have found that my mother was right when she said a cluttered room presses on your brain when you are trying to concentrate on things. My room is clean now and I feel like I can breathe.
I have many things to work on today. I have a four page research paper that was due five weeks ago. Don't judge me. I also have a resume to put together, a web banner to finish, and a 3 page descriptive essay. So off I go.
If you click this picture it moves... :P

Just keep swimming interwebz :)

Dear Betsy, (an entry in my diary)

March 20, 2011                                                                                                              12:08am-12:20am

Dear Betsy,
I'm sorry it has been so long since I have written, almost a year! I am 19.5 now. 5'7", 126.5 lbs and my hair (when straightened) is around an inch from ending in the middle of my lower back.

I am still going to (insert school here) through not for much longer. If I don't goof this up, I graduate in May with an associates in Graphic Design Technology.

This is not exactly why I am writing to you though. You see, I have been running. Not because I thought it would help; I knew it wouldn't, but because I was scared, terrified actually. When I graduate, and even before, I have a lot of foreign things to deal with. Interviews, Portfolio shows, deciding how I am going to accomplish my goals in life, all of these things just start crushing down on me and I feel like it is hopeless and it would be easier to give up. In reality, I know it isn't. It only would make it harder. So here goes nothing?

In the wise words of a fish:
Just keep swimming. :)

Night Betsy :)

Go buy a suit......with what money?

I woke up this morning about two minutes from when I have to leave for my eight o'clock class. I threw on some clean clothes, checked the mirror to make sure I didn't look like a monster who got tickled and then thrown into a static machine. My hair was ok but I kind of just rubbed my eyes and gave up any semblance of hope for makeup.
I ran downstairs and threw my stuff in my bag. A frantic search for my keys revealed them in my purse, which was in the bottom of my bag.
I carefully stepped out on my ice-rink driveway and made my way to my truck. Thankfully it started up after one try. I got the scraper and proceeded to try to chip the ice off of my windshield. It didn't work. I went between banging my head against the steering wheel while trying to regain feeling in my fingers and attacking my windshield with my mom's scraper.
After half an hour it was defrosted enough for safe driving and I was off. I arrived at school and parked to close to another truck. I managed to not touch it even squeezing between the two with my backpack. I slipped a total of three times on my way into school. It is super icy today. I made it into class and about one minute later my name was called for attendance.
I learned about interviews and I now need to buy a suit. Navy blue is a power color I guess. I don't mind getting a suit since I know I will use it for a long time, but I really don't have money right now. :( Bummer.....
After class ended I worked on homework. I wrote up my two page applications paper and turned it in. Another class came in and it was full so I moved to where I am now, the computer lab. I just recently finished my cover letter and turned it in. I am now off to get something to eat at home.
The rest of the day after that consists of filling out some paperwork for scholarships, going to the phone store for them to fix the charging part of my phone, sending in my work hours, and finally going to Glitter and Crumbs to possibly decorate cookies. *takes a deep breath and lets it out*

Busy day interwebz so off I go!

Cupcakes.

Today I was woken up and told I had 45 minutes to get ready for church. I showered and got ready and didn't have enough time to eat breakfast which left me grumpy. We got to church and I sat with Bree and Christal. The sermon was really good.
After church we went home and I fell into a state of half asleepedness on the couch while Dad made two dozen dark chocolate cupcakes. They smelled heavenly. We got them into the car and headed back to church for the 25th anniversary/birthday party thing. There were many many cupcakes; Red Velvet, Peanut butter, even Pineapple Upsidown cake ones! I ate one and hung out with people. There was a presentation and after mingling some more a group of friends and I went to the Jr. High room and played hangman until my dad texted me wondering where I was. I grabbed the leftover cupcakes on his direction and we headed back home.
I ate another dark chocolate cupcake there and then sat down while Dad and I decided what movie to watch. We watched special features until my mom got home from work and then we watched Shall We Dance. I ate smushed eggs.
I am now worrying myself dizzy over how I am going to get everything done tomorrow. I have to go to my 8am class, stay to get massive amounts of homework done (even though I don't have any food to bring with me really), fill out the fafsfa go to the phone store to get my phone fixed, and then go to Glitter and Crumbs. I rather not die.......... *sigh*

Yeah, so that is my life right now interwebz
Oh, and I am still sick. Save me?

For Ashley :) (My devotions today)

Hey Ahsley! I read that you are giving a word for your church. I did this not to long ago (nothing big) but I thought maybe, if you were having any fears about it this could help. :)

Exodus 4:10-13 (NLT)
But Moses pleaded with the Lord, "O Lord, I'm not very good with words. I never have been, and I'm not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled."
Then the Lord asked Moses, "Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord?
Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say."
But Moses again pleaded, "Lord, please! Send anyone else."

Isn't it amazing that Moses, the man who ended up leading a huge amount of people through all sorts of trials, was afraid of speaking (even if it was to someone important). It is good to remember that God is in control :)

Lessons learned from a dumb person: Do NOT save your writing assignments for the day they are due.

So yes, I know that it is never a good idea to wait until the day something is due to look at what the assignment is and do it but, I was dumb and did anyway.
The first assignment wasn't to bad. You had to read through three different sections of the newspaper and then make up bits of story from one thing from each section. I enjoyed that one actually. It took mmmm a little over 3 hours to do?
I ate dinner and finished that one and sent it in. I then looked at my next writing assignment and was sooo thankful that it was 7:45pm.
The assignment was to go to a coffee shop and eaves drop on someones conversation. Yeah. Not only did you have to listen to their conversation but you had to write it all down. I immediately packed up my stuff and booked it to the coffee shop. They close at 9 or 10pm on week nights here. It was surprisingly busy and loud but I sad down next to two groups of people. I started out trying to hear two guys conversation but they were mumbling and left soon after. You could say I had better luck with the next conversation I listened to but my hand about fell off from trying to write fast enough. If you compared how fast they were talking with a land animal it would have been a cheetah. Not only were they talking incredibly fast but since it was so loud in there I could barely hear them. I couldn't exactly pull my chair closer and ask them to speak louder. My assignments were due at 11pm tonight. I left the coffee shop at 9pm and rushed back home. I literally was out of breath and feeling sick by the time I finished this assignment. I had not a clue what I had written and I did a quick spell check and that was it before turning it in 6 minutes before 11pm. Yes. I am dumb. The part of the assignment that I have not yet told you about was that I had to take their very garbled and choppy conversation and fill in the blanks with my imagination. I was dealing with serious conversations about God, relationships and pot roast here!! All still very garbled! Just like me with my friends they jumped topics constantly with no visible connection! Least to say this is not my greatest piece of work and I am thoroughly ashamed of the result of my stupidity.

Learn from my mistake interwebz
