Today:
I woke up at 6:30am and laid in bed taking care of my emails on my phone. I finally got up and washed my face, got dressed, did my makeup, all that good stuff. I gathered my stuff to bring to school and then went downstairs to find something to eat. I had about a quarter of a bowl of Kix and half a cup of coffee. Off to school I went, picking my soundtrack carefully to keep my attitude positive.
I arrived at school and changed to listening to the music on my earbuds instead of the stereo. No one was in the classroom yet when I came in so my usual place was more than open. I don't think anyone would be sitting there anyway. We are creatures of habit. I sat down and logged in, plugged in my two full jump-drives and got straight to work. My teacher came in eventually and I showed her what I had laid out for my portfolio so far. She said it looked good and keep working. Class started at eight in the morning. I stayed in that classroom working on my portfolio for a few hours. I then ran (literally was speed walking) to the other end of the building to ask some questions about printing. Speed walked back and worked on changing things.
I had made a lot of progress when a strobe went off in the classroom. The siren soon followed and a voice was heard telling us to evacuate the building. I quickly dragged all of my work onto my jump-drive and a back up folder. I grabbed almost all of my stuff and stuffed it into my backpack, heading out of the building into the parking lot with the steady flow of students. It was sunny and I breathed in the fresh air as I went with a classmate to her car. I was majorly starting to freak out. What if the fire was real and it wasn't a drill? What if the computer that all of my work was on melted? There is no way that I can re-create all of that in two days. This can't be a real fire because I can't totally botch my portfolio! If this is just a drill that is so annoying. I don't have time for this! I was close to tears when they told us we could go back inside. Psh. Small heart attack no biggie. -_-
Anyway, I kept working on my portfolio. I finally unplugged the jump-drive I had bought at the bookstore and speed walked back to the graphic resource center where I print. We managed to print two whole pages of my portfolio. Out of 20. *sigh* I had to go home at 3. I went upstairs and turned on my computer, looked for my Personal Finance book to take my quiz. I couldn't find it so I just filled in random answers since it is hard enough to do with the book let alone without it. Overall I'm getting one percent short of a B. (I failed that quiz miserably.) I really need to find that book soon. After that I just kind of sat for a few minutes staring into space.
The only break I had taken in my seven hours of school-work was the fire drill. I had eaten the Kix from this morning and half of a Luna bar. A cup of coffee too but that was it. That plus the running from one end of the building to the other and the incredibly amount of stress had left me shaking. You wouldn't be able to tell looking at me or anything but I had failed to take care of myself really. I just didn't have enough time...
I ate the other half of the bar and took a half-shower. Grabbing a hunk of cheese, I got back into my truck and headed off to work.
Work was rough but not the worst it has been. I could have sworn that it was almost all new people working tonight though. My break food saved me. Amazingly enough we were done before 11pm (which is when we close) and so I was out of there by a decent time. I then came home and climbed into bed to check facebook and write this post.
Now I sleep interwebz

You could say that I am a normal girl but that is only true in some senses. True, I am not famous or wildly experienced in anything but I am by no means normal. :P I'm sure you will see this through my posts. I won't be posting regularly but I plan to use my blog as a mixture of a journal and a place to put my poetry. Yes, I write poetry. Most people don't get to see it though so this is why people I know dont really get to see this place. I'm looking forwards to what may happen with this.

So today hasn't been to great...
I woke up at 8:35am this morning. My 1hr class starts at 8am. I got to school at 9am. This class meets once a week so attendance is kind of important. I turned in my research paper and 20 questions and headed to the computer lab to do my resume. Even after restarting the computer, it wouldn't let me log in. I decided to head home to do what homework I could there. At this point I was feeling incredibly discouraged. This was not a good way to wake up and start my day, feeling hopeless and like a failure.
I climbed in my truck and turned the key in the ignition. The bars on the radio started moving and this song came on. Being the emotional sob that I am, as soon as the song got to the point where it said don't cry, I had tears streaming down my face. It is an encouraging song.
It's okay if you can't go
And changed what happened
it was just a bad day
And you know everybody has them
I get it when you say
You feel like everyone's passed you over
But it's not too late
Pick the weight up off your shoulders
I'm coming to take you away
To the place where pain won't find you
I'm coming to take you away
So leave the weight of the world behind you
And you know nothing's too far
Nothing's too hard
I'll always be there
I'm coming to take you away
Don't cry cause you know that you're not alone
Now, let me dry your eyes
Now it's time that you finally find out
There will always be a new day
At the end of every hard one
Now I'm on my way
So I can be the help you start one
I'm coming to take you away
To the place where pain won't find you
I'm coming to take you away
So leave the weight of the world behind you
And you know nothing's too far
Nothing's too hard
I'll always be there
I'm coming to take you away
To take you away
I'm coming to get you
So leave your bags at the hall
That held you down
You can't pack for the place we're going now
It doesn't matter what's going on
I'm the one to get you out
I'm going to take you
Where the sun lights up your face
Where you can't remember yesterday
'Till the hurt has been replaced
I'm coming to take you away
I'm coming to take you away
So leave the weight of the world behind you
And you know nothing's too far
Nothing's too hard
I'll always be there
I'm coming to take you away
Take you away
Unfortunately I'm not encouraged.

Go buy a suit......with what money?
I woke up this morning about two minutes from when I have to leave for my eight o'clock class. I threw on some clean clothes, checked the mirror to make sure I didn't look like a monster who got tickled and then thrown into a static machine. My hair was ok but I kind of just rubbed my eyes and gave up any semblance of hope for makeup.
I ran downstairs and threw my stuff in my bag. A frantic search for my keys revealed them in my purse, which was in the bottom of my bag.
I carefully stepped out on my ice-rink driveway and made my way to my truck. Thankfully it started up after one try. I got the scraper and proceeded to try to chip the ice off of my windshield. It didn't work. I went between banging my head against the steering wheel while trying to regain feeling in my fingers and attacking my windshield with my mom's scraper.
After half an hour it was defrosted enough for safe driving and I was off. I arrived at school and parked to close to another truck. I managed to not touch it even squeezing between the two with my backpack. I slipped a total of three times on my way into school. It is super icy today. I made it into class and about one minute later my name was called for attendance.
I learned about interviews and I now need to buy a suit. Navy blue is a power color I guess. I don't mind getting a suit since I know I will use it for a long time, but I really don't have money right now. :( Bummer.....
After class ended I worked on homework. I wrote up my two page applications paper and turned it in. Another class came in and it was full so I moved to where I am now, the computer lab. I just recently finished my cover letter and turned it in. I am now off to get something to eat at home.
The rest of the day after that consists of filling out some paperwork for scholarships, going to the phone store for them to fix the charging part of my phone, sending in my work hours, and finally going to Glitter and Crumbs to possibly decorate cookies. *takes a deep breath and lets it out*
Busy day interwebz so off I go!

That akward moment when somone takes a picture of you through the drive-through window when you are working.
I just got home from work and am incredibly tired. I can't really feel my legs or feet except for a dull throbbing pain. Yes, I work in the fast food industry. Yesterday and today were our busiest days and they were even busier than last year. We were sold out of many many things. Being in constant motion for around five hours I found, makes you dizzy. I had a ten minute break and that was nice but it was insane, crazy, busy. I had an 8 hour shift yesterday. I was so thankful that I went to bed at a decent hour. *noms on Nachos* Good ole Taco Bell what would I do without you?
I'm still cold. It was freezing cold because the drive-through window was open most of the night. It is snowing really lightly outside. When I walked out to my truck I kind of wanted to just keep walking. It would have been nice to go on a walk. Buuuuuut..... walks in the middle of the night alone (when you are a girl) are not the best idea and I have a bedtime to stick to. 1am.

Preparing for Portfolio/This morning
The first words out of my mouth this morning were "Oh Crap!" I was in the process of flinging my still half asleep body out of bed after seeing that my class started in 10 minutes. As I threw on the first clothes I could find and then covering them with a giant, warm sweatshirt I mentally calculated where my keys, wallet, and pencils were. I ran downstairs and grabbed my scarf and keys and threw on my coat after pulling on my boots. I pulled my folder and notebook out of my backpack and grabbed my purse that already had my planner, wallet, phone, and a composition book that I carry with me everywhere. (It has one of my stories in it and some bits and pieces.) I quickly walked through the freezing morning air to where my truck was covered with what seemed to be frost. Thankfully as i got inside and turned on the windshield wipers it was proved to be a layer of fluffy, light snow. I drove to school as fast as the speed limit would permit me and stepped into class. My normal spot was already taken so I sat next to a girl who I had had a few classes with but hadn't talked to very much. My name was called a few seconds later and I plugged in my two jump drives. We were told to organize all our work so far so as to better work on it. We have a lot of paperwork to do and it is rather boring and tedious. I had a lot of fun talking with the girl while we worked.
I am now sitting in the next class still working on it while talking to people on the computer and writing this. I will need to go home soon though because I did not eat anything before leaving and I am very hungry. I also want a nap but I will probably end up working on my story while eating instead of quickly eating and taking a nap. This is the last week to finish my Advanced Typography homework and it all requires something not on the computer now. Urgh. After i do what I can for organizing my raster work I am going home. Foooooood. :P

Big Fluffy Flakes
Today I woke up and looked outside. It was snowing heavily. Great, now it would take more time to get ready. I threw on my warmest clothes and, after putting a cup of soup in the microwave, I ran outside to brush off my truck. I kept it running so that it wouldn't act up in the cold. I parked it in the driveway and ran inside. Grabbing a scarf and my soup, I situated myself back inside the truck and plugged in my ipod. The sounds of Lachata filled the cab as I drove to school. The entry road to school was a little backed up but I found a good parking spot after squeezing past the large snow-plow. I realized that my mood had already improved as I walked through the large blowing flakes wrapped in my coat and scarf, sipping my hot chicken and stars soup. All was good in the world.

The 18th
This posts purpose is to quick fill you in on what I did on the 18th of this December.
Bob is home for NYC and it is great to have her back :) I hung out with her starting in the morning and we went to Target so she could buy some clothes. We were both really tired so we ended up watching part of Did You Hear About the Morgans when we got back. We then went and took a nap. I didn't sleep very well but it helped a little and it was comfy just laying in the bed.
Once we got up we headed out to pick up St. at her house. It was so good to see her. She gave me a soap shaped like a flamingo. It was awesome.
We headed to the theater where we were meeting up with my adopted senior class. (I have been adopted into this senior class because my class doesn't actually get together with each other and this one does. I happened to go to one of their events and make friends with them. Thanks to Bob for this.) Once everyone got there we went into the theater and took up one and half rows. We watched Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I still liked it since it was Narnia but it was the lowest on my list of the three movies.
After the movie we all went a little ways down the road to I.H.O.P.. I got double blueberry pancakes and Bob got double chocolate chip pancakes. St. got french toast and the girl across from me got a huge omelette! Only St. out of the people I just listed could completely finish her meal. Both Bob and the girl across from me had to get boxes and I had two bites left on my plate.
After the meal was done we got back into my truck and went to drop off St.. I then dropped of Bob at home and went home myself.
So there it is interwebz

So..... yeah. Today.
I woke up 5 minutes before I leave for class. Pulled on skinny jeans and an over-sized sweatshirt. Wrapped myself in my scarf and pulled on my boots as I hoisted my backpack onto my shoulder and headed out to my truck. It was windy and my ears were very cold even through my hood. I set my coffee on the truck bed side and fumbled with my keys. I turned the correct one in the lock and pulled. Nothing happened. I tried again. Again nothing. Both hands took two tries. Doors that are frozen shut are no fun. I turned on the truck and flipped the wipers on. It was powdery snow so it should be fine to just brush it off. Guess not. The wipers just kind of twitched instead. I brushed off the truck and tried the wipers again. Long story short they now only work on the highest setting and they don't go back down properly so you have to time it just so to get them to stay down.
I got to school for my 8am class and it was good. I was productive. I worked on my newsletter quite a bit. Went home and showered. Dried my hair and partially straightened it. Mostly just the two front pieces that I left out of my ponytail. Same clothes mostly except I switched out the shirt underneath my sweatshirt for a clean one. I went downstairs and made a bowl of spaghetti-Os. Is that even considered food? I don't think it is... I did my devotional while eating. I grabbed the mostly eaten box of frosty nerds on my way out the door heading back to school.
I got back early and so I started working on my Packaging for Illustrator. I worked on it for a long time and in class and finished my rough. I switched classrooms so I was in the one for my next class and went back to working on my newsletter. I started on the rough for it. So time consuming! I have to measure the grid, gutters, margins and general layout and text! So. Long.
I went back home and grabbed a rice ball (onigiri) and after talking to my mom for a bit headed off to youth group worship practice. It went well. I played piano for this practice. We had a nice acoustic circle of death at the end and then we were done.
I headed to taco bell for some much needed food. Since my window is frozen shut I decided to skip the drive through and go inside. I wasn't super sure what I was going to get but I noticed the kids meal toy board had domo toys. It was decided. No thought needed! I got the kids meal and a crispy potato soft taco. I quickly walked back to my truck and ripped open the toy! Oh the joy!!!
It is 1:08am. I am going to bed. I have class. Stuff to do.
