I don't think I'm going to school tomorrow....

This is my dad trying to get my mom's car out of our driveway. Two feet of snow people and it is still coming down. One of our neighbors helped my dad get it out finally and my mom went off to work. I wish her safe driving.

P.S. My voice sounds funny......... hmm

More snow? *sigh*

We are supposed to get 18 inches of snow today. It is beautiful and I am entirely sick of it. Thankfully, today is presidents day and I don't have classes. I was thoroughly surprised and it made me very happy since it could not have been better timing. If you have been reading my other blog, you will know that I have recently become sick. I still have a nasty cough but the pain in my muscles has gone down quite a bit.
Last night my dad was going to make hot chocolate. His is the best I have ever had. I was sooo excited, but then he didn't; because I am sick. It was very thoughtful of him but I was very sad.
I got my hair cut! lol Yes, this is a wonderful event in my life. I have been saving!
My mom just snuck up behind me and went "rawrawrawr" in my ear. I jumped pretty high in the air while saying "Whoa!" quite loudly. LOL She ran away with a big grin on her face. I proceeded to tell her that she should be thankful that she didn't get hurt! lol (I tend to automatically react violently to being scared. I don't do it on purpose.) She told me that is why she didn't bite my ear. HAHAHAHAHA Oh how I love my parents. :D We are so weird. :P
I have been talking to people whose blogs I follow lately. Who knew you could make good friends with people that you have never met? :D I am glad to have them as friends :) Yay for finding people with common interests to make friends with :P
I should finish up my lunch. I'm eating glorified chicken and brown rice and drinking black coffee. Haha It is weird having two blogs. I normally included some of the stuff that I include on my other blog here but now that I put it on there I don't as much here because it is repetitive. Did that sentence even make sense? haha

I'm going to finish eating interwebz

My Adventures in a 20 Below World

Friday

I was sitting on the couch downstairs still up from my remaining writing homework and they second part of the story I had finished afterwards. Suddenly the lights turned off, then on, then off again. This was at 3am. I said goodbye to Lysa and closed my laptop. I went upstairs to investigate the incredibly loud beeping coming from the office. It must have been something with the battery back-ups for our computers or something. Dad came out and took care of it and called the power company to report it. I tried to snuggle into a pile of blankets on my bed as much as I could. In that stillness and quiet I heard a car driving by outside. I wondered who it could be returning home at 3:30 in the morning. It was a  police car. I wonder what the point of them making a round through our neighborhood was. My mom asked my dad what he was doing and he replied that he had been calling the power company. She said that it was taking a long time. I laughed when he replied with "Well you try calling the power company in the dark." lol
I had an 8am class and dad said that the power wasn't going to come back on until 6:50am. I'm really thankful that we have a gas fireplace that doesn't need the electricity to run but I don't have an alarm clock like that. My alarm clock had no power and I couldn't charge my phone.
Thankfully one of my school friends texted me in the morning asking if I was going to class and that woke me up. I got a call from my dad telling me that it was 20 below outside and the roads were covered in black ice. He suggested I leave early since the road he was on was shut down due to several serious crashes. I thanked him and went out to the truck to get it warming up. After sitting there for a while, I tried to shift into reverse. It worked but the stick was really stiff. It literally had frozen solid overnight. I drove to school as carefully as possible and hurried into the building. In the time it took for me to walk from my driveway across the street to my truck I hadn't been able to feel my fingers. As I walked into school, I wished that I had a cup of coffee or something to keep my hands warmer.
I was the first to show up for class. Half came and half stayed home. I got a lot done and then went home to eat since I hadn't that morning. After eating a bowl of soup I started working on studying for my Personal Finance Test that I had to do. Ew. I really dislike this class a lot. It is an accounting class and I swear they try to make it more difficult than it needs to be. I want to know how many people use words like liquidity and monetary assets in their normal vocabulary. I finished the test with a decent grade for what it was and rushed around getting ready to go to Brees 18th birthday party.
I got there 5 minutes late but it was okay because she was running late too.

My next post will be about her party interwebz. I have to run to work now!

You know those days...

.......when you look outside and it is gorgeously sunny and you think Oh! what a great day! After that you go outside and freeze immediately in the crystal clear, ice air. I was driving along and there are waist-high snow banks along the side of the road. I thought, I wonder why someone would be snow-blowing the ditch. Why can't I see them? It was the wind. Yeah, the wind was blowing so hard that I thought it was a snow-blower blowing snow out of the side of the road.
In other news I finished my flash project for next week. I now have to tackle the paper that is due tonight before 11 and the quiz that is due tomorrow. I procrastinate strangely. I know.
I think I shall be heading home soon. My stomach is soon to be making loud growling noises that would disturb the class that I am currently sitting in. It isn't my class I'm just getting stuff done while sitting in here.

Off I go interwebz!

Preparing for Portfolio/This morning

The first words out of my mouth this morning were "Oh Crap!" I was in the process of flinging my still half asleep body out of bed after seeing that my class started in 10 minutes. As I threw on the first clothes I could find and then covering them with a giant, warm sweatshirt I mentally calculated where my keys, wallet, and pencils were. I ran downstairs and grabbed my scarf and keys and threw on my coat after pulling on my boots. I pulled my folder and notebook out of my backpack and grabbed my purse that already had my planner, wallet, phone, and a composition book that I carry with me everywhere. (It has one of my stories in it and some bits and pieces.) I quickly walked through the freezing morning air to where my truck was covered with what seemed to be frost. Thankfully as i got inside and turned on the windshield wipers it was proved to be a layer of fluffy, light snow. I drove to school as fast as the speed limit would permit me and stepped into class. My normal spot was already taken so I sat next to a girl who I had had a few classes with but hadn't talked to very much. My name was called a few seconds later and I plugged in my two jump drives. We were told to organize all our work so far so as to better work on it. We have a lot of paperwork to do and it is rather boring and tedious. I had a lot of fun talking with the girl while we worked.
I am now sitting in the next class still working on it while talking to people on the computer and writing this. I will need to go home soon though because I did not eat anything before leaving and I am very hungry. I also want a nap but I will probably end up working on my story while eating instead of quickly eating and taking a nap. This is the last week to finish my Advanced Typography homework and it all requires something not on the computer now. Urgh. After i do what I can for organizing my raster work I am going home. Foooooood. :P

Big Fluffy Flakes

Today I woke up and looked outside. It was snowing heavily. Great, now it would take more time to  get ready. I threw on my warmest clothes and, after putting a cup of soup in the microwave, I ran outside to brush off my truck. I kept it running so that it wouldn't act up in the cold. I parked it in the driveway and ran inside. Grabbing a scarf and my soup, I situated myself back inside the truck and plugged in my ipod. The sounds of Lachata filled the cab as I drove to school. The entry road to school was a little backed up but I found a good parking spot after squeezing past the large snow-plow. I realized that my mood had already improved as I walked through the large blowing flakes wrapped in my coat and scarf, sipping my hot chicken and stars soup. All was good in the world.

Winter "Break"

Ayo
So I know I haven't posted in a few days but really not to much has been happening. I have been attempting to get myself to do my homework, hanging out with friends that are back in town, lazing around the computer and random other stuff.
I just got back a grade on an assignment I turned in and I got an A on my symphony poster! Yay!
I turned in my Editorial design as well and should get a good grade on it as well. That checks off two out of my list of eight. Now, I know that sounds steep but only two out of those remaining six are large projects. I hope to finish quite a few today. It really stinks having to think about school while you are break as well. Extended classes are no fun.
I have found that the older you get the less your "breaks" are actually breaks. If I didn't have my extended class I would be working. Yes, you still get to have fun but it seems like you can't truly relax. I start school again the eleventh and honestly, I'm kind of terrified. If everything goes according to plan I'm graduating next semester. Now most people who hear this say "Aren't you excited? Have you applied for any jobs yet? What are you going to do?" This takes me back to graduating high school and the never ending questions of so what are you doing after high school? What college are you going to? What are you majoring in? *sigh*
Anyway, I'm not truly excited to graduate because with graduation comes pressure and responsibility. Pressure to immediately find a "real" job and responsibility to fulfill peoples expectations. What if I don't want to find a job in graphic design? If I had enough money I would want to go back to school for English! But there is that endless circle. You  need money to go to school, so you can get a job, to get money. Kind of stinks.
Well, I better get back to school.

What endless circles do you have interwebz?

Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas! How do you say it in Japanese…..hmm

As I will have said in my last blog post I am stuck in an airport and therefore have no internet so I am typing up these posts in Word to be posted later when I have access.

Christmas was much fun. I woke up and ate the Blueberry French Toast that my mom makes every year for breakfast. After cleaning up we opened our presents. I normally only get one good present and I know what it is but this year my parents had been rubbing it in my face that I didn’t know. It had been torture! I think my favorite part of Christmas is giving the presents. I’m not even kidding I love it to death.

We got on the flight we were waiting for so this post that I was writing in the airport was cut short.
Continuing on with my Christmas this year:

Not to be focusing only on what I got for Christmas but I am going to include it.  I am so thankful for my gifts and happy to have them.
-New cell phone come February (from my parents)
-New boots (from my parents)
-$50 dollars (from my Grandparents) which promptly went into my concert fund
-A cool shirt and $15 gift card for Target (from my Aunt and Uncle)
-An ornament (from my two cousins)
- Fuzzy socks and Xtreme airhead candy (from Bree)
- A Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader poster and handmade purse (from Christal)
-A SHINee lanyard (from Lysa)
-A 2011 planner with pictures that are Japanese themed (from the Lawrences)
-A book about Japan (from the Lawrences)
- A book on learning Hirigana and Katakana (from Jayne)
- A Japanese Grammar book (from Jayne)

I got other gifts too but these are the main ones that come to mind.

After we opened our presents we opened our stockings.  It was fun seeing my parents reacting to what they got.  I got a really cute bunny ornament in my stocking. After stockings we got ready to go to Jaynes parents house to have lunch and hang out. We got there around 12:30pm or so. We ate lunch with Jaynes parents and brother. There was turkey, parsnips, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole. Mmmmm so good.  The only time I have parsnips is when we have Christmas with them.
After lunch we watched Oliver Twist (the musical version) and Jayne took a nap upstairs while I just fell asleep on the couch watching the movie. After the movie was done we went upstairs and played catch phrase. There were several different teams. "kids" against adults, girls against guys, and then our families went against each other. I was on the winning team all but once if I remember right.
After we finished with the game we decided to watch another movie. Jayne and I convinced everyone to watch Father of the Bride. We hadn't seen it in a long time and I really enjoy the movie.  After it was done my family and I went back home. I climbed into bed and caught up on a website I follow.
After that I went to sleep :P

Have you ever had parsnips interwebz?

No really this has been it:

Monday
I was at school from 10am to 6pm with three 5 minute breaks and not really to much food.

I was at school from 8am to 4pm with one ten minute break and once again not nearly enough food. After that I went Christmas shopping with Bree and it was a very welcome break to do things I needed to anyway.

Wednesday
I was at school from 10am to 3:20pm with no breaks. Then I ran and got food and brought it back to school and stayed there from 4:30pm or so to 6pm.

Thursday (today)
I go to school at 8 and stay there until all of my school projects are done.

Plan for Friday
Get up and meet Lysa at Caribou at 3am.  Yes.  The 17th marks the day I am off of my self inflicted Kpop ban. Snowstorm of the century

So last night (10th) the news people were saying that we are in for the storm of  the century here in Minnesota.  It is supposed to rival the one on Halloween of 1991.  Well today there was over two feet of snow on our deck.  They keep calling it a blizzard.  People are stuck everywhere and they even closed the Mall of America early.
But I'm heading to bed now!

Don't get snowed in interwebz!

Happy December!

The snow is being blown like glitter in the wind.
A few flakes frolic wandering on their own
The sun pulls back its comforter of clouds
And even though the glitter is still flying through the air
Liquid crystal forms and falls

今日

So..... yeah.  Today.

I woke up 5 minutes before I leave for class.  Pulled on skinny jeans and an over-sized sweatshirt.  Wrapped myself in my scarf and pulled on my boots as I hoisted my backpack onto my shoulder and headed out to my truck.  It was windy and my ears were very cold even through my hood.  I set my coffee on the truck bed side and fumbled with my keys.  I turned the correct one in the lock and pulled.   Nothing happened.  I tried again.  Again nothing.  Both hands took two tries.  Doors that are frozen shut are no fun.  I turned on the truck and flipped the wipers on.  It was powdery snow so it should be fine to just brush it off.  Guess not.  The wipers just kind of twitched instead.  I brushed off the truck and tried the wipers again.  Long story short they now only work on the highest setting and they don't go back down properly so you have to time it just so to get them to stay down.
I got to school for my 8am class and it was good.  I was productive.  I worked on my newsletter quite a bit.  Went home and showered.  Dried my hair and partially straightened it.  Mostly just the two front pieces that I left out of my ponytail.  Same clothes mostly except I switched out the shirt underneath my sweatshirt for a clean one. I went downstairs and made a bowl of spaghetti-Os.  Is that even considered food?  I don't think it is... I did my devotional while eating.  I grabbed the mostly eaten box of frosty nerds on my way out the door heading back to school.
I got back early and so I started working on my Packaging for Illustrator.  I worked on it for a long time and in class and finished my rough.  I switched classrooms so I was in the one for my next class and went back to working on my newsletter.  I started on the rough for it.  So time consuming!  I have to measure the grid, gutters, margins and general layout and text!  So. Long.
I went back home and grabbed a rice ball (onigiri) and after talking to my mom for a bit headed off to youth group worship practice.  It went well.  I played piano for this practice.  We had a nice acoustic circle of death at the end and then we were done.
I headed  to taco bell for some much needed food.  Since my window is frozen shut I decided to skip the drive through and go inside.  I wasn't super sure what I was going to get but I noticed the kids meal toy board had domo toys.  It was decided.  No thought needed!  I got the kids meal and a crispy potato soft taco.  I quickly walked back to my truck and ripped open the toy!  Oh the joy!!!
It is 1:08am.  I am going to bed. I have class.  Stuff to do.
*kisses domo goodnight*
